MOVIE ANALYSIS: BAD GENIUS

MOVIE ANALYSIS: BAD GENIUS

The school as a learning institution: I always believed that the school is the most important institution of all, it is where we learn and develop our fullest potentials as well as the skills we need to succeed in our life. On the movie it is proven and noticeable that their school just wants money regardless of your status in life. They not focus on the quality of education, but instead they just focus on what they can get more than what they can offer.

The teachers as a leader in assessment: Getting high scores on exam doesn't necessarily mean that the students do excell in a specific subject that's teacher as a leader in assessment is a must because they are the one who'll check and guide if the learners really understand the lessons. On the movie, assessment on the students are not highly emphasized.

The values of students in school: Student's attitude, behavior, and personality do really have a factor on their success. On the movie it is recognizable that some of student's were not good, some of them are rude and just relying on their positions in life just to passed on their exams. Although the main characters do start the chaos, but for me they just did what's beneficial for them, but at the end of the day negative behavior will not propel us in the right directions.

One of the greatest lesson that this movie teaches us that will relate all school institutions is that cheating is a fast remedy, but it will never solve the problem. In my opinion, it is better to fail than to cheat. The best way to improve your marks is to actually study and understand your schoolwork. While one's academic abilities are reflected in one's school success, both classroom education and life experiences contribute to how a person is completely characterized.

BAD GENIUS: FOUR MAIN CHARACTERS

BAD GENIUS: FOUR MAIN CHARACTERS

Actually, I like how the film progresses from beginning to end. It exhibits a learner's various characteristics. Lynn, Bank, Pat, and Grace are the names of the four key characters in the film.

Lynn is a student who attends a competitive school because her father works there. However, there is a catch: the school's headmaster is charging him more than she should because of it, putting Lynn's family in even more financial jeopardy. Lynn just want to help her father that's why she tried different ways to help her father from their financial crisis.

On the other hand, Bank is a devoted son who always appears to have the worst luck. A horrible twist of fate leads him to do something he never dreamed he would do. Just like Lynn, Bank is also a bright and intelligent student and they also have the same financial problem. His characteristics on the start of the movie was great -- very honest and trustworthy, however on the latter part of the video he is slowly changing because of money.

Furthermore, Pat is a spoilt affluent boy who is driven to do the unthinkable in order to meet his father's high expectations, and Grace, like many girls from wealthy families, prefers to enjoy life rather than study. She turns her friend's assistance into a company to assist her wealthy peers. She transforms her friend's help into a business to help her rich classmates. Pat and Grace have the similarities of being not so smart but because of their status in life they managed to think of ways that they can used money to pass on their academe.

PRIDE MONTH

PRIDE MONTH

June marks pride month around the world, where people celebrate diversity and inclusion of the LGBTQIA+ community. It is a great opportunity to celebrate, reflect and show gratitude to those that have paved the way for a more equitable future – and to continue to fly the rainbow flag for those that still face prejudice, inequality and oppression.

Pride month is all about celebration, acknowledgement and fun! It is the perfect opportunity to unapologetically celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community and all that we are, having conversations around our journey to date but also where there is opportunity for further growth, support and progression. It allows us to organize worldwide events that bring unity to the LGBTQIA+ community and offers a platform for those who wish to be allies!

I am Jerome M. Maniaga, a gay and a loud and proud member of this colorful community called LGBTQIA+ saying that the real acceptance starts when you fully accept who you are and what you are.

ACCEPTED: THE POWER OF REJECTION

ACCEPTED: THE POWER OF REJECTION

The movie "Accepted" seems to be unfamiliar to all of us, but it also seems interesting. The moment our professor told us the glimpse of the movie it actually had the opposite on what is running in my head. And the moment we are watching it, the idea that comes to my mind is the power of failure. Many of us encountered and experienced to failed whether it is in school, at home, and in so many fields of life. People think that if we failed on something they'll consider us as loser, defeated, and unsuccessful, but I totally disagree. I believe that failure is an ingredient to become successful because we will not see what's wrong with us or what's lacking with us if we don't failed, failure is very powerful because it can turn an ordinary person to become extraordinary, I see failure as a motivation that can unleash our fullest potentials, that can broaden the horizon towards us and the people around us.

Furthermore, I felt melancholic towards the students who didn't passed or been accepted on their first option of their chosen school. It feels devasted on the first few days, however don't let sadness ruin your future there are huge opportunities and possibilities outside, don't settle for less and don't force yourself to be in the situation where you don't deserve. This movie accepted can somehow be harmful to the youngsters particularly to those students, because they might think of doing the same of creating a fake university just to make our parents proud and just to make ourselves accepted and feel welcome to society's standard. However, if we will think deeply this movie had a different intention to the viewers and that is to really explore the world and let our failure be our greatest inspiration to become the person we want to see in the future.

Additionally, I can not deny the fact there are moments in the movie that I felt I've done it before, but in a different scenario. I can still clearly remember when I was in elementary, I was a great social climber just to fit or at least be close to my classmates's status in life. They were very rich, on the other side I'm just a normal student in the middle class society, but since I wanna fit on the standard I fake myself, I fake my status, I fake my personality just for own sake to be welcomed and felt the valued and worth that my classmates are receiving. Back then if you are rich you are powerful, you are popular, and student's look up to you. Don't get me wrong I'm always on top of the class but I chose to fit on other people's standard. And that scenario kinda resonated what Bartleby have done to the movie. Moreover, this movie also talks about the condition of education around the world. It is proven in the movie that for student's they really need to study even harder to make their dreams alive on the university they want. Also, they do need to pay attention and of course bring their critical and creative juices. On the other hand, it also highlights how students are being technologically inclined because they can create a website for students to log in and create a so called SHIT University or the South Harmon Institute of Technology. Education and Technology on education or being emphasized on this movie.

In conclusion, this movie thought us to be who we are despite all the criticism and judgements from other people. This movie give the students a platform to be creative and enjoy their desire and interest in life. From all the possible themes I think one of the best would be "pursuing ones dream" because despite all the rejections and failures that students faced they are all still motivated and willing to achieve their dreams no matter what those dreams are. I do love the courage and perseverance that the main character have shown on the latter part of the movie just to protect and uplift the students abilities that can create thousands of possibilities inside the SHIT University.

All in all, it was great movie. A must watch movie for those people who have failed in life, but want to keep going and move forward.
